THE SARONIC & EAST PELOPONESE

OLD STYLE CLASS

This itinerary walks visitors through some of the most classy and distinguished places in Greece, both from its islands and from the mainland. It is a full 2 weeks, offering something entirely different each day.

EMBARKATION: ATHENS

DAY 1 - POROS

Poros is the greenest island of the Saronic gulf, with pine trees running down from the top of the hills to the sandy beaches. The port is very picturesque, with fishing boats, traditional taverns, modern bars and the infamous clock tower.

DAY 2 - HYDRA

This cosmopolitan island, build amphitheatrically down a hill and completely free of cars, is known for its night life and its immaculate views. The only vehicles allowed are horse-carriages and donkeys, yet going on foot is a great option to get the local feeling. The most secluded beaches can be accessed only by boat.

DAY 3 - SPETSES

Another car free island, with beautiful mansions and lordly buildings. Do not miss a visit to the house where the infamous Bouboulina lived, the woman whose name is carved in the history of the Greek revolution. Nice sandy beaches, clean waters and an elegant atmosphere.

DAY 4 - NAFPLION

Nafplion is a coastal city with rich history, as it was Greece’s first capital. Start your journey from the Old Medieval town, with its pebbled alleys full of small shops, cafés, restaurants and bars. Follow the ancient footsteps toward Palamidi, the ruins of a tower overlooking the most breathtaking sea view. Take a boat to Bourtzi, the Venetian castle and take a walk to Syntagma square, or take a swim at Amouliani beach.

DAY 5 - ASTROS

Astros is built in a green plain and has a beautiful area built around the town square , with traditional stone houses and narrow shopping alleys. There is also Paleo Astros, a touristic sea side village.

DAY 6 - GERAKAS

The port of Gerakas is also known as the Lakonian Fiord, as the landscape resembles those of Scandinavian countries. Picturesque stone built houses and small fishing boats make it seem like it comes from another time.

DAY 7 - MONEMVASIA

Monemvasia is a breathtaking medieval town, built in the Byzantine period. It is a complex and mystique complex on the slope of a big rock overlooking the sea and offers the atmpophere of a real-life fairytale.

DAY 8 - LEONIDION

Leonidio is a small town built between the sea and mount Parnon. Full of gardens with geraniums and lemon trees and Frankish mansions, it is a place worth visiting.

DAY 9 - PORTO HELI

This cosmopolitan resort by the sea offers a great variety of beaches, a number of resorts, intense night life and traditional Greek sea food. The turquoise waters, as well as its proximity to Spetses and Ermioni have made it a popular jet set destination.

DAY 10 - ERMIONI

Ermioni is a small town, full of beauty and tranquility. It combines the atmosphere of a lively town, with taverns and clubs by the sea, and the serenity of an island full of trees and crystal blue waters.

DAY 11 - EPIDAVROS

Although known mostly for its impeccable ancient theatre and its Theatre Festival held every summer, Epidavros has more to offer. Beautiful beaches, traditional houses and an old village full of picturesque corners will enchant the visitors.

DAY 12 - AGGISTRI

The smallest island of the Saronic is famous for its unbelievably clean and turquoise waters. It is green and full of life, with organized beaches by the village as well as secluded coves, accessible only by boat.

DAY 13 - AEGINA

Aegina has something for everyone to enjoy. The port town is full of shops, taverns and cafes, as well as counters to buy products with its famous pistachio. The inland is ideal for sightseeing, with its ancient temple of Afea and the Saint Nektarios monastery. The villages are decorated by lacy beaches and clear blue waters.

DAY 14 - ATHENS

Greece’s vivid and diverse capital can satisfy even the most demanding. Restaurants with traditional food but also various ethnic cuisines, bars and clubs, museums, galleries, picturesque suburbs and of course, the iconic monument of the Acropolis. A must-see.
